Logistical Information

Conference venue

CEED Regional Conference will take place in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria. Sofia is the capital and the largest city of Bulgaria. It is located in western Bulgaria, at the foot of the mountain massif Vitosha, and is the administrative, cultural, economic, and educational centre of the country.

One of the oldest cities in Europe, the history of Serdica-Sredets-Sofia can be traced back some 7000 years ago - prehistoric settlements were excavated in the centre of the present city - near the royal palace, as well as in outer districts such as Slatina and Obelia. The well preserved town walls (especially their substructures) from antiquity date back before the 7th century BC, when Thracians established their city next to the most important and highly respected mineral spring, still functioning today. Sofia has had several names in the different periods of its existence, and remnants of the city's millenary history can still be seen today alongside modern landmarks.

Visas

For those participants, coming from countries that need visas (Montenegro, Macedonia, etc.), we will arrange letters of guarantee for a business visit.

To do so, we kindly ask you to send us the following information:

• Name
• Surname
• Date of birth
• Nationality
• Name and address of the legal Entity or Company where you are employed with

To obtain a visa, you need to apply for it at least 3 weeksearlier. Therefore, please make sure to deliver all the needed information well in advance.

Transportation

All participants should arrange transport to Bulgaria by themselves. Transport expenses shall be covered by participants. However, conference organizers will provide airport pick-up and drop-off to the participants.

Accommodation

All participants will be staying at the Greenville hotel and apartment houses, which is also the conference venue. Accommodation expenses shall be covered by participants. More information on the hotel can be found on the following website: http://www.greenville-sofia.com/.

Hotel prices (per person per day, breakfast included) are:

• Single room: 110,00 EUR (tourist fee per day included)
• Double room: 130,00 EUR (tourist fee per day included)

• please specify that you are coming to the CEED Regional Conference.

All hotel guests have free access to the hotel gym, garage and wi-fi.

The facilities of the hotel also include a SPA Center with relax room, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, as well as different types of massages.

Entertainment

On Sunday morning everyone will be engaged in the sports activities organized on the golf course of Ihtiman, which is about 40 km away from Sofia. Considering that not everyone is familiar with golf, there will be a golf instructor for the beginners. The special golf lesson will finish with a small tournament and a prize for the winner. Those of you who would prefer to ride a horse or play basketball or tennis will be able to take advantage of the horse riding, the basketball playground or the tennis court there. Therefore, please make sure you bring suitable sports shoes and clothes for the day. The sports activities will finish with a BBQ and we will then go back to Sofia.
